I wasn't sure this lock would fit my commercial door since the frame is pretty narrow, but the team helped me pick the right size. The locksmith they work with also installed it for me. It works great and I really like the passage mode. Highly recommended!
The support team at this company are incredible - they will do video calls and try their best to help you get things resolved. My door setup was complicated and there were a lot of issues getting it setup BUT it now works and looks great. The product manual isn't great and the app is pretty subpar - but if you have a crazy ornate door like I do and need a smart lock, this is a really good option.
Just know if you get this hardware you may need help. I'm a fairly technical person - and even then, I would not have been able to figure this out without a locksmith. At the end of the day, I'm quite happy with the product. I just do hope the app improves.

PROS:
- Great Communication from the company: customer service and support
- The Finished look of the installed lock is spectacular
- One of the few smart locks online I could find to work with a multi-point locking door
CONS:
- Long delivery time: 4 weeks
- A lot of details aren't provided on the product page. The company is definitely willing to answer any questions ahead of time, but I think a lot of details on the product design and operation are missing.
- Dead bolt lock is completely manual and can only be accessed from the outside
- No ability to Lock/Unlock remotely without a person physically AT the door lock
- Documentation provided in the user manual is minimal, but Tech Support staff will schedule a free video call to answer any questions and/or assist.
- Installation videos aren't very helpful for DIY install. Detailed instructions are lacking.
- Lock programming timeout is only a few seconds, making first-time programming frustrating.
- Tuya App integration is clunky and has very few smart lock features compared to other smart lock apps
- No App push notification ability for basic lock operation (i.e. user unlocks)
- No support for Apple Home/HomeKit
Overall, The Connected Shop does a great job with the level of service they provide -- prompt and eager to help and answer your questions. However, I do think the design of the lock itself and the associated app used for lock functionality could be vastly improved.

I had two other locksmiths look at installing my smart locks—one said they couldnt do it, and the other wanted to charge me double. Thankfully, The Connector Shop set me up with their preferred installer, Malcolm, and he was absolutely fantastic. I’ll admit I had my doubts at first, but everything came out perfect. The locks work flawlessly, and having the ability to unlock the door remotely for guests or visitors is a game changer. The fingerprint technology is amazing too. Malcolm was professional, reasonable, and really knew what he was doing. Highly recommend!

My last two homes have Therma Tru doors and I have always disliked having to use both hands to lock the door from the outside or the inside. The Smart Door Lock Slim is the perfect upgrade to the existing lock mechanism. To retrofit the door for the new lock does require two additional holes to be drilled, and to increase the size of the cutout for the handle. Once installed it works as advertised and works well. Access is via fingerprint, keycard, or code. The multipoint lock still works as well to secure the door. The deadbolt is now only used via the key slot and is a backup way to lock the door and prevent it from opening at all.
Dealing with the company was great. Dimitri was very helpful as I asked over a dozen questions before/after purchasing because I knew once I start the install and put new holes in the door there was no going back. They even provided a tech video call and David was very helpful.
I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for the ease of entry and exit.
I would give it five stars if the mobile app was better than the Tuya app, which I already use for other home automations. The ability to lock the door remotely, enable/disable passage mode and set the times when passage mode is enabled/disabled would make this solution perfect. Also, and knowing every door is different, there was very little help installing it on a Therma Tru door so answering my questions was great because I did a DIY install and it just works.

Does this smart lock work in cold weather city like Chicago?

Absolutely. The Next Gen Smart Lock works in cold-weather cities like Chicago. It has an IP54 rating, meaning it handles everyday rain and snow, but it’s best when not exposed to heavy or direct water flow. In very low temperatures, battery life may shorten slightly, which is normal for all battery-powered locks.

After the measurements and confirmation, the lock arrived in about two weeks cost me about $150 to install for my commercial aluminum door. I can’t say it was easy but nothing complicated instructions were OK to follow.

I wish there was more features on the lock. I wish that I could unlock the door without having to receive a notification from the lock itself. It would be nice to put it in passage mode through the phone or linked device. Instead of having to enter a code that way, I could leave it in passage mode during the day or the weekend when people are in and out, then lock the door remotely with my phone.

The only complaint I have is that the app is in yellow and it is very difficult to read.
The auto lock that is built in is the only issue we have with the door lock, no way to turn it off thru the app, only option is onsite, turning on the passage feature. Not a good option for a rental setup requiring 50 - 60 code entry per day because the door locks immediately behind the guest.
It is a good lock and will work well in residential setting or a low activity property, but for rentals and the lack of being able to turn this built in feature off, not a good choice for us. Since we had to modify the door, we are stuck with it for now .
We installed it a couple days ago.. It works very well with a user-friendly app. I'm gonna buy a second one.
I've been trying out this smart padlock and I have to say, it's pretty cool. It's made locking things up a lot quicker since I can just use my fingerprint to unlock. The convenience factor can’t be beat. It also feels really sturdy, which is a big plus.

Got this smart lock for my mom’s door. I helped her find it, since she has lost her keys in the past and wanted a way to not have to have a key on her. The installation was very easy for this type of lock. The store is great as was their tech assistance line, which I called to help me with the set up. Highly recommend!
